I am seriously looking at racing the TT at Henderson. What's the typical drill?....pre-run on Friday, Qualify on Sat., race on Sun.? I am trying to figure travel days and days off work. It's only 1200 miles one way to the race.

Henderson FabTech Desert Classic – Revised as of 11/19/08
The 2008 race format is going to be totally different from the last four years. We are still going to be starting in the same location on private property out in the Eldorado Valley, 15 miles from downtown Henderson, with a brand new grand prix course in the infield. The infield will offer great place to spectate, where you can watch racing all day long. The new fun and challenging race course will be approximately 48-miles in length for all race vehicles; the motorcycle, quads and utv’s will race on the same CT course. There will no longer be two separate pit areas for motorcycle/quad/utv’s and car/trucks, there will be one large pit area for everyone, with the exciting infield track in the middle. The new format will be running three separate races. The first race will start at 6:30 am with the motorcycles, quads and utv’s starting and racing. The 2nd race and 3rd race start times are approximate depending on the time the previous race vehicles reach a certain mile marker and it is safe to start the next race. Below are the class divisions and time designations:
1st Race – 6:30 am – Motorcycle, Quads & UTV’s – The motorcycles and quads will race around an approximate 48-mile loop four times, with a grand prix finish. The UTV’s will race around the approximate
48-mile loop two times with a grand prix finish. The Motorcycle, Quad and UTV course is the same course as the Car/Truck course.
2nd Race – (approx) 10:00 am – Class 1100, 1700, 1800, 2000, 3100, 3700, 4100, 5000, 7100, 7300, 8100
These classes will race around an approximate 48-mile loop four times, with a grand prix finish.
3rd Race – (approx) 2:00 pm – Class 1000, 1200, 1400, 1500, 7200, 8000. These classes will race around an approximate 48-mile loop four times, with a grand prix finish.
Special Note: some classes will have more than one race vehicle start at the same time.
There is not one main host hotel for the Henderson FabTech Desert, the city of Henderson is the sponsor and we promote all of the Henderson hotels. All of the festivities will take place downtown Henderson on Water Street inside and outside of the Henderson Convention Center. A discounted Henderson Hotel list is posted so you can see all of your options.
We will begin with a registration for the pre-run and Class 1400 and Class 1500 on Thursday, December 4 at 10:00am. The Time Trial event will take place on Thursday afternoon. On Friday, December 5, there will be a pre-run of the course, you must pre-run this is a four-wheel vehicle, you will pre-run the 48-mile loop one time, and must be entered to pre-run the course. On Friday we will run a registration for all classes, technical inspection, contingency and the Drivers/Riders meeting. The race will take place all day Saturday, December 6 out at the Eldorado Valley area. The Awards Presentation will be on Sunday morning, December 7, at the Convention Center.
Sounds Exciting! Count on it !!!
We are always bringing you new and different! Get ready for an exciting new Henderson FabTech Desert Classic! See you in Henderson in December!

Pops pretty much summed it up. The only thing different is no bikes and quads this year, we no longer get to race this one.:(

Pops, are you trying to confuse us? 2008 schedule? 2008 course? Like Jamie says, I think that Eldorado Valley is done forever! so sad! Most of the flat land out there is Boulder City property, right? How about having a race that stays off of the precious BLM property and uses only Boulder City land? How about Nelson Hills? If none of the above, where is the race? Let me guess... Primm.

I thought just a portion of Eldorado Valley closed? (North end up in the mountains.) or has something changed since last year? I know the quads/bikes could not race their own course in 2008 like years past because of the closure, that is why BITD used the same course for everyone. The BITD schedule still says "Race in Henderson, NV." I wonder where the race will be.

Regardless of location, the original poster was looking for a schedule for the race, which Pops pretty much gave him. BITD usually qualifies on Thursday, signups/tech on Friday, race on Saturday, awards on Sunday. Pretty much how a typical weekend goes for BITD. I would imagine that this race would not be much different scedule wise, but sounds like the location could change.
