Anyone racing vegas to reno in august? ....yea,we thought so, here is a
attachment about the proposed mobil food service from phat kat catering
that has been asked to set up a 3 day food service for the race.

Phat kat catering is the big grey trailer that has been to parker,and primm this year. They have set up a program that will allow them to
follow the event everyday and provide the great meals that most everyone has had from them all ready. The logistics of this event
for racers and crews is a problem, the pace doesnt allow a good place or the time to let the teams eat or stop with out falling behind, and most towns are not ramped up to serve them quickly or efficently, just getting gas in the small towns is enough of a chore....

Read this attachment, its a great idea ,and teams should really think
about this option,it takes alot of the hassle outta the event,and
its like having a cafeteria at every stop of the race.

MISSION STATEMENT:

AS PER AN AGREEMENT WITH MANAGEMENT WITHIN “BEST IN THE DESERT” IT IS OUR INTENT TO
PROVIDE ON SITE MOBIL FOOD SERVICE FOR THE EVENT KNOWN AS “ VEGA TO RENO 2009” .
WE WILL TRAVEL WITH THE RACE IN SEQUENCE TO THE DESIGNATED PIT AREAS AND OVER NIGHT STAGING AREAS THAT ARE PRE-DETERMINED IN THE EVENT SCHEDULE AND CALANDER . WE WILL
PROVIDE A THREE (3) MEAL A DAY FOOD SCHEDULE THAT WILL ACCOMIDATE THE DAILY ACTIVITY
OF THIS EVENT.

OUR PURPOSE IS SIMPLE; TO CREATE A NUTRITIONAL FULL SERVICE MOBIL KITCHEN THAT ALLOWS THE TEAMS PARTICIPATING TO “NOT” HAVE TO DEAL WITH THE ISSUES OF SCHEDULING MEALS,
PACKING ,TRANSPORTING, AND PREPARING MEALS ,LET ALONE TRY AND FIND IN TOWN VENUES
THAT WILL MEET THE DEMANDS OF BOTH TIME AND CONVIENENCE , TO A BUSY TIME FRAME AND
SCHEDULED FORMAT OF THIS EVENT .

AS THIS SERVICE MIGHT NOT BE FOR EVERYONE, IT WILL ACCOMIDATE SEVERAL RACE TEAMS WHETHER ITS 2 OR 20 MEMBERS. KNOWING THAT AS THE DAILY FINISHING ORDER IS A STEADY FLOW OF VEHICLES ,THIS ALLOWS US TO KEEP FRESH FOOD AVALIBLE AT THE DAILY FINISHING/
OVERNIGHT STAGING AREAS AND KEEP A PACE AS DEMANDED, BY FINISHING RACERS AND TEAM
MEMBERS TRYING TO USE THEIR TIME WISELY EVERYDAY TO MAINTAIN THE NEEDS OF THE
RACE , ANY UNFORSEEN TIME ROBBING ISSUES WITH VEHICLES OR SET BACKS RELATED TO.

WE WILL PROVIDE A FULL SERVICE BREAKFAST EVERY MORNING, OFFER A “BOX TYPE LUNCH”
TO GO THAT WILL BE PICKED UP AFTER BREAKFAST EVERYDAY,AND A FULL THREE (3) OPTION
DINNER MENU EVERY EVENING. WE WILL BE IN THE STAGING / OVERNIGHT AREA(S) AS WELL IN
A PRE -DETERMINED BY “B.I.T.D.” FOOD VENUE AREA THAT WILL BE IDENTIFIED EASILY.OUR GOAL
IS TO ALSO INCLUDE TABLES AND SEATING THAT WE WILL DETERMINE TO BE ADIQUIT AND MANAGABLE BY OUR STAFF WITHIN REASON .

OUR MENU SCHEDULE

THURS. (RACE DAY #1)
Breakfast
Scrambled eggs, with or with out “cowboy type fixins”
Sausage ,bacon & ham
French toast &/or pancakes (varies ea.day)
Breakfast type potato
Breakfast sandwiches
Fresh fruit
Breakfast quesadillas
NOTE:---BREAKFAST WILL BE A MIXTURE OF ITEMS ABOVE ,AND MAY VARY “SLIGHTLY”
FROM DAY TO DAY,TO INSURE A GOOD VARIETY ,AND TIMELY SERVICE TO ALL
BREAKFAST IS AVALIBLE FOR THURS,FRIDAY & SATURDAY

Doesnt matter if your hiking the 1000 or you are a 50 person trophy truck team, we will treat everyone the same,its only right, there is a number we need to hit to be able to make this even worth doing, its no hot dog kart, this is a very methodical procedure bringing that much quality product from phoenix,monitoring , and handling the required product to
feed 250+ people for 3 days,.......a few igloos should handle it.....as long as igloo makes semi trailers that are refidgerated:):):)

We will stay open as late as possible,im sure until 9 or 10 is what we are thinking,we know that some teams will have issues,and we will hang to accomidate them,as best we can.

Some teams will have mechanical problems, and they will not finish the entire race. As what happened to us @ the last Nevada 1000 in 2005. 35 members, moved out of Tonopah center camp on Day 2(two). this should be factored into your plans. Great post, see you at Camp Adventure.

Good idea. We were wondering about the feeding problem, too. Two of our chase crews actually decided to chase in their motorhomes so they could have the females cooking up some grub while they were going down the road. That was our solution, but this seems like a good option and you wouldn't have to drag around a motorhome.

Is it possible to just sign up for only some of the meals? For example, my team is already planning on cooking our own dinners (we've got some steak recipes we want to try). But if in the mornings we can grab breakfast from you guys, that's one less hassle when we're waking up.

WE ARE GETTING GOOD RESPONSE FROM THE RACERS AND TEAMS, SEVERAL LARGE TEAMS WITH 20+ PEOPLE, AND ADDING TO OUR LIST EVERYDAY, EVERYONE IS VERY
EXCITED ABOUT THE PROGRAM AND THE TIME SAVINGS THIS OFFERS EVERYONE WHO
IS SIGNED UP.HOPEFULLY WE WONT HAVE TO PUT A CUT OFF NUMBER OUT THERE
AND STOP ACCEPTING APPLICATIONS!!!!!!!

Can you get meals ala carte, or do you need to buy a package? As a volunteer, we'll be in our positions long before breakfast, would miss lunch, and pending on our course assignments, would like to check out your fare at Camp Adventure a couple of evenings.

Yes,
meals will be avalible on a "a la carte" basis , prices will be posted ea day for single meal purchases right on site for individuals needing selected
meals just for this type of scenerio
