2 laps of 35 miles for the side by sides and 4 wheelers for a total of 70 miles. 2 laps of 75 miles for all other classes for a total of 150. total time limit is 8 hours. there will be limited piting up in the back side mountain section so we will be running a pit support trailer there.

Tech will be from 11am until 9pm Friday Sept. 18th

Drivers meeting will be 20 minutes before the race for side by sides and 4 wheelers and your race will start at aproximatly 6:30am

Drivers meeting for car and truck classes will be 1 hour before the race and your race will start at aproximatly 11:00am

Wendover is busy this time of year with speed week so rooms will get taken early for those of you who miss out on rooms there will be camping allowed at the main pit area.

This is a new course and about 3/4 of it has never been raced before. the new section takes you up through the mountains accross the upper flats west of wendover and drops back down through the canyons into the wendover valley. VERY COOL NEW COURSE!!!

Also the back side of this course is very remote and makes pitting difficult... we will be setting up a pit support trailer in this area and you are all welcome to use it for emergency pitting if you want to leave tires or fuel there you have to drop them off before the race at the pit. here is a link for more info http://www.borracing.org/

Why only 150 miles for the truck & Buggy class??? I don't think many out of town team will show up for 150 miles of racing. I know we wouldn't drive to Vegas or CA for 150 miles race. Will there be any pre running of the track?

Are there going to be any maps available before race weekend?

Can we pre-run on Friday? Was going to bring some 4-wheelers down to do that but if we can't then it would save me some cargo.

150 miles is pretty short for my 24 hour round trip of travel time but it'll be my first race so I just won't know any better. :) Although just for my input, if it looked like I had my car ready by Labor Day, I'd probably choose a closer(Goldendale) or longer race(Hawthorne). But I'll be in Wendover for this race and am looking forward to it!

Also, a week and a half ago I booked a room at the Motel 6 on the Utah side of the border and it appeared they had pretty good availability left at that time. The reviews I read for that motel were pretty good compared to other hotels in town that had rooms available.

BLM is only allowing 2 laps. We are working on longer course for the next one. Maps will be posted on the BOR website soon. Although a little short, it will be a great course, a lot of virgin territory.

BJ is correct the BLM only wants 2 laps on this new course and the permit time on these races is 12 to 16 months so it is what it is. the new course up through the WSA area is unreal though you dont want to miss this one.

ALSO THE DRIVERS MEETING HAS BEEN CHANGED TO FRIDAY NIGHT THE 18TH OF SEPT. AT THE RAINBOW CASINO CONVENTION CENTER AT 7:00PM "IT IS MANDATORY"

And yes we will be pre running friday morning one lap guided speed limit 25 mph. and course maps will be available and I heard they are working on a gps file download for the course.

Sounds like it will be a fun "Sprint" race.
Would like to see more laps of less miles though.
It's hard to get people to come out and help when they only get to see you go by every couple of hours.
But we will be there with our car #936.

it sounds to me like the laps are going to get longer as the BLM is now saying they dont want anymore than two laps per race, so we are now scouting 100 to 150 mile courses. Its going to be Mexican style racing from now on:D

Is the start/finish main pit still in the same place as normal, south of Wendover?

Yes the start/fin is in the same place but the track runs backwords to the mountains and then through them to the upper western flats on the back side of the WSA then up to the north and back down some canyon passes to the valley and back to the S/F and yes this corse truly has some of everything some of the passes we are running are so steep we had to run the corse clockwise cause no-one would make the climb's. this is the best description I can give you until the map is released about a week before the race... I wish I were allowed to post it its Friggin awsome!!
