Bonneville Off-Road Racing (BOR) is pleased to announce their 2019 racing schedule. BOR is a budget minded racing organization based out of Utah that holds races local to us, mostly in Utah and Nevada, though we've been exploring reviving the Colorado desert scene as well.

Entry fees are currently at $500 or less and we are striving to keep them low while still offering a full event experience. There's no Fremont St in Vernal, but we do have a good time!
  • MAY 18, 2019 – VERNAL DINOSAUR DASH – VERNAL, UT
  • JUNE 29, 2019 – JACKPOT FREEDOM 200 – JACKPOT, NV
  • AUGUST 31, 2019 – KNOLLS WHITE KNUCKLES – KNOLLS, UT
  • OCTOBER 12, 2019 – WENDOVER 300 – WEST WENDOVER, NV
  • NOVEMBER 2, 2019 – END OF SEASON AWARDS BANQUET
Please contact us with any questions and we hope to see you out there this coming season!

Excellent! Now that both trucks are in Jerome Idaho we will attend as many of these as our schedule allows! October is out for sure... (hunting season and Hell's Canyon annual trip). We are also very willing to get involved with the Admin part and I would gladly be a race director (after training, ha ha)... on any race I don't plan to attend. I also have an idea for a title sponsor for Jackpot but need to file some paperwork first. I will PM you my contact info Kyle.

Really looking forward to a long race at Wendover again. The 5 miles we made last time just wasn't enough.

Exploring reviving the Colorado desert scene as well. Missing The Colorado West ,
I Hear there are Some Broncos that need the Colorado desert to run in.
The Colorado East is very Dry.

I'll be moving to East Idaho in a month or two. Are these courses open spectating? Designated areas? Thanks!

For sure, spectating is free and a bit more open than at most of the big races. The best way to spectate is to help out at the race, though and run a checkpoint or something similar. PM me your contact info and we can talk.

Also, the date for Knolls has moved to August 24th to avoid Labor Day.

I was interested in taking pictures of the racers but volunteering sounds fun. I've never done that! I'll pm you once I move and get situated in Idaho Falls. Thanks.

T minus 30 days until the 2019 Vernal Dinosaur Dash!

Registration and memberships are available at the website below. Please sign up ASAP so we can get a count for t-shirts, trophies and dash plaques, and to determine classes. We haven’t implemented late registration penalties yet, but that may be coming depending on how it goes for Vernal. Finalizing registration on the day before the race just makes everything more difficult, and I know the racers don’t enjoy determining class divisions at driver’s meeting any more than staff does.

Bonneville OffRoad Racing

All drivers and codrivers will need a membership, either for the season or individual race. Membership comes with a racer packet including a t-shirt, a race specific dash plaque, and gift cards valued at the $40 price of admission. There are only twelve days left to get into the drawing that will entitle you to a FREE Sportsman entry good at any of the subsequent 2019 races (must be present at Vernal to win).

Entry fees have gone up this year to help cover rising permit, insurance and operational costs. However, payback is increasing as well. $200 of every PRO Truck/Buggy and $150 of every PRO UTV entry fee will go towards payback this year, which is an increase from last season. PCI Race Radios is offering up $50 to the winner of each class (another reason to encourage your fellow racers to sign up!). Remember, three like vehicles form a class, so if three YXZ’s or Class 7 trucks show up, they can form their own classes and add another $50 to their prize money pool.

We are still finalizing the schedule, but it will be course marking Thursday and Friday, tech and registration, guided pre-run Friday afternoon (no open prerunning), racing all day Saturday with limited vehicles and UTV’s in the morning, and unlimited vehicles in the afternoon. Cleanup on Sunday.

Volunteers are still needed before, during and after the race. We need people to help with course marking, running checkpoints, vehicle recovery, course cleanup, registration and t-shirt sales, etc.

Hotel room codes will be available next week, once again at the Springhill Suites Marriot.

RACERS: Please reply below if you are racing Vernal, what type of vehicle (SNORE Class Designation if known), and whether PRO or Sportsman. And call out your fellow racers to get them signed up!

VOLUNTEERS: Please reply with what days your available to help on and what you’d be willing to help with (checkpoint, recovery, course marking, registration, merchandise, tech inspection). Also indicate whether you’ll have a VHF radio to bring and use (we have a limited number to loan). If you’re available Saturday (race day), please indicate if you are unavailable during one of the races due to racing commitments.

Thank you! We are looking forward to a great race and season!

- Allen Gerber and the BOR crew

We just did our first race with BOR in Vernal and it was great, definitely doing more ! Very grass roots style and an awesome crew. Facebook is the best way for contact right now it seems. But from what I understand all of their races this season are a go. We’ll definitely be racing with them again.

Cool, glad to hear. We have done two Jackpot races before... "back in the day" so-to-speak. Looking forward to this one. I will have Lara get on FB. (I deleted my social BS accounts).

Here are the results and some pics from the 2019 BOR/Dirt Riot Dinosaur Dash. The Dirt Riot guys were great company and I think everyone had a great time. For those not familiar with the event, it takes place on Uintah County and Utah State land, both entities are awesome to work with.
