Brake Line Question

How do you run and attach the metal brake lines from your rear backing plates to the point where you attach the flexible line? Also how close do you come to the rubber boot with your attachment point? I'm in the process of plumbing my new car and looking for ideas.
I plan to use a stock VW two prong brake light switch. Is it durable enough?
Thanks for the help,
Mike Hinson

I recall using hardline from the backing plate across the axle tube to about 3"-4" from the In-board boot. This is where one of those "U"-shape brackets was welded. From there it went to flex line (stock?) down to the chassis, then hardline all the way to the MC.

I know of a 5-1600 that used a stock brake light switch for several seasons. Then, it failed to work. When changing it, it crumbled in my hands. The after market one for $3.00 with screw terminals was what was on my car.

Your mileage may vary.

Tim - "a 5-1600 that used a stock brake light switch for several seasons. Then, it failed to work. When changing it, it crumbled in my hands" - hey I thought that was gonna be our secret! Besides what do you need a brake light for anyway?
