Originally I was gonna go with a reverse manual valvebody C6 in my '94 F-150 (351W). Since the truck will also see pavement I'm not too big on losing overdrive, but if I have to I will. Plus I can gear it lower if I have OD. Then the idea of putting in a built up AOD came to mind. I was curious what you guys who have experiance with these trannys thought. Here are some of the key things I'm looking for.

- Manual valvebody (prefer reverse valvebody)
- Able to handle 400-500hp
- Very durable
- No computer, vacuum, kick down cable control
- Overdrive would be only used on the street, never in the dirt.

I'm gonna give Art Carr a call, I checked out their website and they seem to offer a lot for the AOD. Just wanted to hear from you dezert guys about it since I'm sure somone has done this.

Thanks,

-Scott

if you decide to go c-6, the wide ratio gear set is a great alternative to lower rear end gears. these are actually the first and second gears out of the aod. you still don't have overdrive, but you gain the gear you need out of the hole
