CALIENTE -- Two-time defending champion T.J Flores combined with Las Vegas chiropractor Dr. Kevin Colan Saturday to capture the Class 1 and overall title in the Southern Nevada Off Road Enthusiasts Dusty Times 250 off-road race.
Flores ran the first two laps of the event before turning over the duties to Colan, a 45-year resident of Las Vegas and a former motorcycle racer. The team sponsored by Valley Performance turned a four-lap time of 5 hours, 17.39 minutes to gain the victory.
Rob MacCachren scored his third Class 1600 victory of the year with a time of 5:28.09, while Las Vegas anesthesiologist Michael Hanson roared to the Class 10 crown with a 6:37.01.
Other winners included John Baker (7S); Raul Solano (5-1600), Dana Dague (Mini Metal); Clay Lenard (12); Travis Bozzano (7); Sheldon Paul (8); Tommy Morales (5); John Pfeffer (15); Clint Braun (18) and Cody Rash (9)
A total of 71 cars started the event.
