I know of two other 10 cars that are showing up, so class 10 has 4 entries already.

DATED NOVEMBER 22nd, 2015

The long arm of the environmentalist has made its way into our beloved Puerto Penasco (Rocky Point).

For the past two years Todd Elam at Southern Arizona Desert Racing has been working with the local governments in the state of Sonora and the cities of Sonoyta and Puerto Penasco with the hopes of bringing a full time off road racing series to the area. Todd had successfully finished one season and was one race away from finishing his second complete season in 2015 when the final race was suddenly cancelled.

Renewed interest in the area by several racing promoters required local agencies to call for an environmental impact study to be done. Todd Elam agreed to do the study at his cost before the first race of the 2016 season. HOWEVER, in the infinite wisdom that all environmental agencies possess, they revolked all currently approved permits canceling not only the Dec 5th SADR Cholla 250 race, but other motorsports events already scheduled for the rest of 2015.

Todd Elam of Southern Arizona Desert Racing will be working with the mexican government in attempts to get the impact study done as soon as possible. Once all the red tape has been cleared up, Todd will post the schedule for the 2016 racing season.

This makes for a disappointing and anti-climatic close to our racing season. We will be back in 2016 supporting Todd and his efforts to return racing to the deserts of Puerto Penasco.
