Cleaning rust aways

What is the best way to clean somewhat rusty saw shock bodies? Scotch brite pad and wd-40? Fill me in, thanks!

Any cad plate shock does that soon enough. Power wire wheel till bare metal then clear engine paint (500 degree) will be an inexpensive fix. Thats one reason why a couple shock producers use nickel plate.
