What do you think of this modification, it seems like a good way to run longer shocks, and would work for shocks with rod ends, but would it compromise the strength of the coil bucket too much??

He welded the new tower to coil bucket to replace what he cut off. Cheap and effective. It gets a 10 on the ghettofabulos scale

Exactly what I plan on doing to my wifes explorer. Have seen a few trucks done ths way. Her car gets used mildly off road, and I do not want to put $$ much into it. Just better shocks ect. As for fitting with rod ends, use a spacer between the shock and sides of the tower? I would not use them on a car that you plan on beating the crap out of.

yeah, I'm thinking they will not hold up so good under hard use, but would be good while saving up for some good custom buckets. Just like Johnny Cash says...."one piece at a time"....Jaron

just modify your bucket like fabtech does, they chop off the shock part of the bucket and add a plate, then a simple piece of bent tube for the new shock mount that bolts to the frame.

by the looks of that rancho lift I dont think that guy is going to be using anywhere near all of that shaft if he had modified beams I might say OK but that would still be pushing it.....
