A lot of weight hanging back there with 2 spare tires and a fuel cell.

Most trucks have all the same weight hanging back there and race for years without this happening. I think his question was how does a brand new truck fail like that? Bummer for the cops guys. They did a lot of work prepping for the race and they had some pretty capable drivers in that spec truck!

I believe the fuel cell is mid board. So it is not hanging off the rear so less weight back there. You have 2 spares and batteries in the back I believe. But I would bet that at some point the tubes were seamed right above the axle.

Welds can look amazing from the surface but not have full penetration or fusion. That looks to be the case here. Are any test put into these high dollar chasis to make sure they are sound? UT,Xray, ect??

I saw it this morning and welds didn't fail! I have no clue how it could happen but there's tubes broke off, torn off, ect but welds didn't pop.

No one has mentioned who the builder was. So who was it?
