i say a week max,( private concrete co.) if non structural, i looked at it instead of the surf( flat), and its like a used car you bought with bondo& chicken wire,Ugly!, they dug out a bunch of bad rebar& concrete, now they exposed big voids under the side walk.it could be about till december im guessing

probably its in the first part, e&e, then an engineering / bluprints phase, then sent to open bids, then bids go through the political phase, ie ' minority women owned concrete company?, then the bids get lost, by then rain has Really undermined sidewalk, And has compromised street integrity, whole street now closed off, new examination& evaluation required & a new engineering package re submitted, new bid request sent out,,, see a patern yet??

#they dug out a bunch of bad rebar& concrete"
Did it look like concrete spalling and oxidation (from salt air exposure & lack of maintenance) or because of poor quality concrete & sloppy construction practices? That building collapse in Miami caused lots of videos to be uploaded that showed years of damage that was ignored.

It should have been sent out to bid........with a performance clause every day after quoted finish date is a grand penalty.

Oh wait that means 'change order' = more $$ & time

That's something I noticed when I worked for the gubmint. Nobody cares about any project once it's finished and the mayor's speeches have ended.

You sure a car didn't go off that? I see a brocken metal hand rail that does not appear to be an age failure...

Was it built post-Depression under the CCC program? Just guessing, but the era of the construction (and who did the constructing) can tell you a Lot. Kinda embarrassing that 20 centuries ago the Romans built poop that still stands.

There's an inherent problem with rebar. Using vinyl coating, galvanizing it, etc., still isn't perfect because it gets nicked during the install. Years later, the rusting begins and then the expansion (and separation) are inevitable. I've heard of stainless steel as a substitute, but until it's close in price.....
