Here's my Stage 7 map, the real elevation profile, and the Google Earth file. I mapped this almost a week ago but I knew there were issues with it, so I didn't want to publish. But I found some stuff tonight that helped me make corrections in two places, so I think it's pretty good now. The elevation profile that ASO published and gave to the competitors is completely wrong.

From hours of mapping this stage and getting a good detailed view of it, I'd say this one should be pretty good for the Gordini. Though there are still a lot of twisty WRC type roads, there's also a fair amount of rough stuff, and HP (no road) including some dunes. I'm looking for a good result from both Gordinis!

A view of the course...

The start (DSS) is in the wash far in the distance:

Well into the stage, after all the rough stuff, crossing this bridge left to right:

Village near the bridge:

Passing this mining village (Santa Ana) on the road above it:

Coming into the next mining village, Animas:

Lots of this along the way:

Heading up that twisty road after passing through mining village San Vicente:

It's treacherous in some places if you get off the road:

There's a lot of "ridge running" on this stage:

Typical road along the way:

Fun fun!

Through the badlands:

The wash coming into Tapiza:

They finish the fist half of the stage in the wash passing under the bridge in Tapiza. After this there is a 100km neutralized section on the highway crossing the boarder from Bolivia back into Argentina. Then they have a second Special of a bit over 90km to the finish for the day, then a LONG 280km liaison to the Bivouac in Salta. They do a lot of running up and down washes on this stage, so it could be interesting if it rains hard!

Aren't they still at a pretty high altitude? Low on power for the petro guys.

Wow! Now that's what a stage preview should look like. Amazing. Thanks for the hard work Mr Wild.

On the Dutch site RG is starting 16th. Must have used his mulligan to start farther up for this stage
