Today is the first loop stage of Dakar. Bikes are hitting WP1 and Ricky Brabec is leading on time followed by Americas brother Toby Price.

Also tracking still hows Robby and Blade have't hit WP6 of yesterdays stage and no new updates on Planet Robby.

But it does show them on the starting list for today.

the ASO kills the timing in the night, like 1am european time, no more updates after that

Yep just saw this on Dakar's site:

"The fog is making the course unacceptably dangerous right now. The organisers have therefore decided to neutralise the motorbike/quad race for 35 minutes at CP1, as well as pushing the start of the car special 30 minutes back."

Bike route being paused for 35 minutes at CP1 for the bikes....that will give everyone a rest and bunch them back up again...I assume after such a pause they restart in intervals again??

What A Joke
Just talked to Team Speed. All 3 cars finished last night!!! They are starting in about 30min and will stick together today. Great news!

It pretty cool to see this late in the rally that there are 4 different vehicles occupying the top 4 spots in the car class.

The bike class has been great this year. The USA has been well represented no matter what the outcome is from here.

Watching Team Speed has become for me like watching & rooting for that last class 11 or sportsman team to finish the Baja 1000. We are alll watching & cheering for them to just finish! And in years past that’s been more exciting then to see which TT won.

Honestly this has been a really fun Rally with the Amarican bike guys doing so well, the competition in the car class does not seem lopsided as in the past, when one factory is dominating. We have Curry in the UTV’s doing well. The story about getting them more parts was probably more interesting though. Then you have Robby’s team scraping each stage to just making it.

For me seeing Robby’s cars all finish is like watching him compete for a win! Just as exciting!

And Loeb who was clawing back time appears to be down or not showing as well...

Ya at this point everyone knows what they have and everyone knows that just a finish is going to be a win at this point.

However in the future we need RG to come to win the damn Dakar!!! Haha

09:55 Loeb working on his car!
47 kilometres into the special, Sébastien Loeb has been trying to fix an electrical problem with his Peugeot for over 20 minutes. The Frenchman is seeing his last hopes of winning this year's Dakar evaporate!
