If you check at trackingdakar.com position by hours (not stage time) you will see that supposedly RG started 21 on the road at 6:38am and for example in wp2 he crossed at 15th position at 7:23am.

For example Erik Van Loon started 3 minutes beforeRG and crossed WP2 7:33am. That should have been 10 minutes after RG physically (by times it’s 13 minutes).
But curiously Erik times appears in that wp2 and following WP3 some minutes before those of RG, in fact RG time still not appeared. In my opinion this confirms that RG, Hildebrand and Sola times are being mathematically reduced 15 minutes
I answer myself, now Rag time appeared in WP3, some 12/14 minutes after I saw the one of Van Loon, si hour and minutes showed by system is not showing the real times

the 10 minute split at wp1 between rg and #2 is continuously shrinking too, he's clearly losing time to leaders

Ya looks like they simply figured in the 15 min fueling time right off the bat. Once they actually fuel they will drop back even more then.

I’ll try and find out more on the 15 min fueling thing. 15 min seems like a hell of a long time to fuel. I wonder if their fuel stop only takes say 5 min so they only give them 5 min credit or do they get 15 no matter what and hold them for 15min maybe?

Looks like fueling is done at CP6, not sure if before or after the CP6 actual check point so I would expect a big drop back from team speed either at CP6 or 7 when I believe they will hold them for 15min of fueling.

From Dakar:

09:00 Gordon is keeping quiet
Robby Gordon is returning to the Dakar following a 2-year absence and is driving a UTV Textron on this edition that is not allowing him to do battle with the best. The American lies in 21st position after 200 km of the special, a quarter of an hour behind Loeb.

The course today includes a lot of wide open smooth stuff. I think the 130kph speed limit on Robby and all UTVs will come into play today. The gas stop is MANDATORY 15 minutes, for everyone who stops there. That is partly to avoid any rush situation while handling fuel.
