What thickness/gauge steel do you guys dimple die usually?

1/8" seems a little thick

Thanks,

Generally from .035 to .095. You can do .120 mild steel or annealed 4130 without much problem. Normalized 4130 x .120 is harder on the dies and is, for all practical purposes, beyond using a nut and bolt to do the clamping.
