Well, to make a long story short, we were running really good in heat 1. Not in too much dust and able to run pretty hard! On lap 3 at RX 2, our transmission quit. Completely locked. We checked the obvious, fluid and linkage but no obvious problems. transmission was running cool and did not get hot at all. Had to pull the drive shaft to get it towed in.
All down and out, Trevor and Dan (ICS) came to the rescue! They said there was a transmission at their shop in Santee at the door on a cart ready to go if we sent someone to get it! That put a smile back on the teams face, but the time between races was a bit overwhelming. While a couple guys booked it to Santee, Blake from RDE helped drop the transmission out of the truck and start tearing it down. The crew called when they were getting off the freeway headed back to us and those guys hauled butt slamming the ICS transmission into the truck! Only 4 minutes late to the start, we had a great 2nd heat! The transmission worked perfect, the truck worked awesome and because of our 4 minute late start, we finished 2nd in the 2nd heat. All in all, a huge accomplishment for our team to work so diligently to get us back for round 2.
