Dual-sport Buggy build-up

Well-Known Member
Here’s a great example of a chassis being built in the Build Your Own Sandrail class at the Riverside Wizard Schools of Fabrication. This dual-sport car is being built by 18 year-old Allen Ramos, who is doing all the fab work himself and had no fabrication experience prior to beginning. Allen is enrolled in the weekend course that runs all-day Saturdays and Sundays from 8a.m. to 6p.m. Danny Porter helped with the overall design of the chassis and then Allen got to work. After a weekend of training by the Wizard instructors, Allen has gotten this far on the project in only 3 weekends. The chassis is being built out of 1-¾” by .120”-wall DOM tubing to make it extra stout for dual-sport use. And the best part for Allen is, of course, that when he’s done with the chassis and suspension it’s his to take home and keep.

We’ll update this thread to show Allen’s progress as he gets further along on the Build Your Own program.
