F250 TTB w/leafs : Travel Question ?

On getting travel out of a F250 with TTB and leaf springs.............how much travel is reasonable with the leaf set up? I assume Deaver is the way to go for springs, maybe they can help ?? Other ideas and recommendations are welcome.

Lose the leaf springs and go coil or coilover, depending on budget. I assume you are talking about a older F250 with Dana 50 TTB. The cheap and easy way is to get some radius arms and brackets from a late model Super Duty 2X4. They are pretty long, strong and cheap and with only minor mods will bolt up. Then get coil buckets from a older F250 2X4 (maybe the late model ones will also work) and some Moog Coils. On the other end of the spectrum; build some custom radius arms and brackets, shock hoops, coilovers, etc., etc. etc.

Definantly go with coils of some sort. Leafs don't like all that bending and twisting they would have to do in order to get some decent travel.

that setup is pure evil. stock the bushings wear out in no time at all, i cant imagine increasing the travel. abandon the setup, torch it to pieces, and firebomb it would be my advice.

Could you put "orbit eyes" in the springs? That would eliminate the bushing wear.

Orbit eyes do allow rotation of the spring. Unfortunatly the beam swings an arc and the springs must bend to conform. So they would only solve half the problem. EVIL!!

I agree, it just wouldn't flex. (see 'evil' ).
I wanted a low buck solution instead of coilovers, and I think Ramsey has the right idea. Radius arms, Coils and buckets are plentiful in the junk yards. That would be a fun swap.
