What is a common size tubing most people use to build their fender supports? I was thinking 1" but now that I look at it, it seems a little big to me. That means I'll have to slide it into a 1-1/4" tube on the cage/frame to secure it. Would 3/4" x .120 be better, and will it be strong enough ? I'm building a hoop in the front with 3 dzus tabs and one hoop in the rear with 4 dzus tabs.

Thanks,

3/4 is fine, just make plenty of support for it, and it doesnt need thick tubing.

I wont have to worry about that. EMT will never come anywhere near any truck I build.

Like I said Scooby is a piece, EMT is fine for him.
As to welding anything plated, I keep some Muriatic Acid around just for such events. You can not grind the plating off well enough to weld w/o contamination of the weld metal. Perhaps that tip should be in Prep Tech too.
