Thought the rally raid section most appropriate place for this - considering the type of people that might have the $ to do this.
A updated version of the Camel Trophy from the people who run Formula E.
Formula E - the wilderness SUV version.

Probably a 'green-washing' exercise to be seen to be doing something rather than nothing. Be interesting to see who lines up. , e.g X-Raid for BMW, Mattias Ekstrom for Audi, Hallspeed/ Overdrive for Toyota etc

Spark Racing Technology/ France are tigging into the mostly complete prototype space frame on fb and other media except their own website.

Obviously for the sponsorship ego dollar etc.
Many motorsport events/ teams do the charity/ foundation/ scholarship etc side-project as part of the racing program.

Andretti Autosport has expressed interest. They already have an FE team as well as Indycar, Indy Lights, ARX, GT4 and Aussie Supercars. Venturi, one of the original FE teams is onboard.

Williams is doing the batteries, Spark is doing the chassis. The car will launch at Goodwood this weekend. The races won't be rally raid length races. There will be two groups of six teams that will do a round robin style bracket elimination. The races are head to head 6-10 km long each using virtual CPs with a different track for each round of eliminations. The electric vehicle isn't wacky. The way they are transporting the cars and paddock is as it's on a ship. As in an ocean going vessel.

It's a pretty interesting concept. I'd guess they'll get at least a season out of it.

Tires look like 40s. According to the link at motorsport.com it's 940 mm or 37". The tires on the 2018 Mini buggy were 245/80R16 or about 31".

So far two factory supported teams. ABT with Audi factory support and HWA with Mercedes factory support. Support is a bit of a misnomer since the cars are all spec cars with limited adjustments. Still though it's sponsor dollars. That's only three teams confirmed so far (with rumors of 5-6 more interested) but that's good manufacturer support.
