Reposted from a list, thot those of you that use Yahoo for an eddress or otherwise might like to know about this:

"I thought I pass this on to everyone for what it's worth. I don't think it's all that big of a deal -- but I opted out anyway. Yahoo is now using something called "Web Beacons" to track Yahoo Group users around the net and see what you're doing. It's similar to cookies but some say it is "oh-so-much-more insidious." -- But who knows? I went to their privacy page read it -- but it's not real clear to me exactly what they are saying, which I'm sure was their intent.
Use your own judgment -- you may want to opt out just for general principle. Here's the spot for you to opt out and review their updated privacy statement...

About half-way down the page, in the section "Outside the Yahoo! Network", you'll see a little "click here" link that will let you opt-out of their new method of snooping. But be careful -- the Yahooligans are sneaky little devils -- You will get a confirmation page with another button that's real tempting to click on if you don't read it. If you do click it -- it will undo what you just did."
