getting unstuck... how to?

Who have never been stuck in sand or mud? Who had won in past B1000 if nobody had problems in the silts? With the upcoming Dakar and its sand sections, it would be nice for 2WD to have alternate option to get unstuck .
Existing methods are listed in two groups. A third group would be for new ideas.
Please share your experience/ideas, the goal is to find the most practical way to get unstuck.

Group 1, Already stuck:
Maxtrax
Winch
Tire-winch : Trac Grabbers: Wood beam: Deflating tires (remote or manual)
Jack, either Hi-lift, hydraulic, etc.
carpet
the funny tool: Zip ties:
Group 2, Avoiding getting stuck:
Just drive a class 11
Deflating tires (remote or manual)
Use sand tires

Group 3, new ideas or not so common.
Hybrid Dirt/sand tires
Temporary 4WD (electrical motor maybe)

have fun!

MAX TRAX, they really work. Got our f-350 with trailer and class 11 on trailer out of the sand when it buried up to the hubs. I swore it would not work, it was amazing.

Brandon Hollander had posted these on another site I am on and they look great, they can fold up small unlike the others. Also saw they have a mount for them. TractionJack

A remote solution from in-cab for ice traction is already in the market. Can this inspire a remote solution for sand/mud?

I didn't watch the entire video, but it seems to me that it needs a plowed/smooth icy road to operate. I don't think it would work in snow drifts or sand/mud as snow, sand or mud would prevent the arm from swinging down into position to engage the tire and spin... I also wonder on a passenger tire, how the sidewall would fare after extended use???

I know many look for less expensive alternatives but I will always stand behind KC and the Maxtrax America folks. They race our sport, support our sport well and are always willing to lend a hand when needed to anyone -

A little work he did this weekend helping someone that got stuck....

Sorry, but I have found them to be useless in both cases where I tried to use them - deep sand and mud.

Other's may find them useful, but you will never see them on my vehicles - much better methods available.

What are your preferred methods Ramsey? Please share that wealth of knowledge with those of us that might need it...

A lot of different factors come into play... what are you driving and what are you stuck in?
For me personally we got my 2WD Tahoe stuck in the sand in Glamis. The only time I have been stuck in my 4WD Duramax truck in my avatar was when I entered a mudbog... I got stuck first attempt and got help from the steel tow cable pulling me back out, but next attempt I was the first one to make it all the way through the pit!!!

I will never do it again though as I am still cleaning mud off the truck!!

Ramsey brings Chuck Norris with him wherever he goes, trucks are too scared to get stuck when Chuck is around.

Here the Tractor trick:

Wrong setup it seems. Tree trunk on the ground blocks the right wheel.

What about silt...when your in the middle of nowhere with no help???? My unjustified fear and while we are at it, driving techniques when in silt and NOT in a race vehicle, but a loaded truck :)
