He was born September 23, 1977 in South Carolina to Mike and Melinda, and as the first of five children, showed his natural leadership abilities early in life. Always the athlete, he was standout baseball and football player, as well as a nationally-ranked BMX rider.Chris graduated from Twentynine Palms High School in 1995. In 1996, he proudly enlisted in the United States Marine Corps where he began his career as a distinguished leader and mentor. He served 3 tours in OEF/OIF and was the recipient of a Bronze Star, Purple Heart with gold star in lieu of 2nd award, Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal with Combat Valor distinguishing device and 2 gold stars in lieu of 3rd award, Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal with Combat Valor distinguishing device and 2 gold stars in lieu of 3rd award, and a Combat Action Ribbon with 1 gold star in lieu of 2nd award. In March 2016, he retired and began a second career as the National Program Director of Mighty Oaks Warrior Programs. More recently, he was racing with The Warrior Built Organization, and he lost his life while racing the #352 in the Vegas to Reno event.Chris was passionate about helping others. God and family were first in his life, and everyone who met Chris got a brilliant smile, a laugh, and usually some sage life advice. His faith, personal strength in the face of adversity, and his ability to always find humor, adventure, and a good time left a lasting impression on everyone he met. Chris is survived by his father Mike Carlisle of Yucca Valley, mother Melinda Taylor (Dean) of Fallbrook, his children Dylan, Megan, and Hailey and their mother Brooke of Yuma, AZ, brother Brian (Janna) of Alta, IA, sister Dana Abell (Brandon) of Mohave Valley, AZ, sister Kimberlee Beaird (Dillon) of Saint Robert, MO, brother Tyler (Anna) of Oceanside, his nephews and nieces Micaiah, Zach, Bradlee, Brodee, Madeline, Robert, and Bentlee, extended family, and countless friends. He will forever be missed.A Celebration of Life will be held Wednesday, August 23 at Joshua Springs Calvary Chapel at 11am. Graveside services will be held at Riverside National Cemetary on August 29 at 1:45pm. Receptions will follow both services. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, a donation be made in Chris' name to Mighty Oaks Warrior Programs, The Warrior Built Foundation, or God's Army of League City, Texas.</blockquote>
