I'm trying to make sure I can have track files available for downloading. The original file is from a Garmin handheld unit. I used Mapsource to save the files in various formats. I also used a program online to convert to .gpx and .kmz

Can someone download these and see if you can open and load them onto your Lowrance or other GPS unit?

Thanks,
Grayson

Lowrance units need/read .usr files.

I opened your .gpx files and got 141 plot points.

I saved your .gpx files as .usr files for a Lowrance.

Attached is a picture of your furnished .kmz file from Google Earth.

Thanks!

I tried using the Lowrance convert utility from their site but I don't think the converted file is good. Can you try to load/open the attached .usr files for me?

If they don't work I'll have to post the actual race track and get someone to convert to .usr for me.

Do you know of another convert program? (.gdb to .usr OR .gpx to .usr)

Also, when I try to save my garmin (.gdb) file as a .gpx using Mapsource, the program crashes. The program has the latest updates....... Anyone else have this problem?

Thanks again.

I think these will work now. I used a program called TrackMaker to convert from the gps unit to .usr and .kml.....

Sorry if I'm hijacking the thread...........
Has anyone had a problem downloading the MORE ORAF Race map?

I tried downloading it with MapCreate, (this is what I have used before). A window keeps popping up telling me "Bad file name or number" ?????????

I tried using the TrackMaker software, it downloads, but I can't get my Lowrance handeld GPS to read it, even after I converted it to a .usr file.

Any help from the Experts would super.

Thanks, & sorry for the hijack.

The ORAF file from the MORE site is very bad and loaded with stuff that has nothing to do with the race course.

Here it is cleaned up and ready for use in any Lowrance GPS unit.

Sorry not trying to Hijack this thread. I just got my 540c and have not purchased the software yet. Do any of you have an rfr file for the glamis/buttercup dunes?
