Gonna order all my autometer phantom guages tonight. On the trans temp whats better range 100-250 or 140 -280 and water120-240 or 140-280. THeir gonna be mechanical and on a 4.0 either hov or sohc motor with a c4. I figure trans 140-280 and water 100-250? bUt just curious what you racers run.
thanks

trans 280, water 240.

If you want the racer bling, turn the guages so that 190/200 on the water points the needel straight up a and 230/240 on the trans points up so at a glance you can tell if you are running hot.

Not that either way is wrong, I would go for the 140F-280F on your water guage's. You will most likely never run below 140F... But you may see temperature's above 240F in a race(Since you plan on going 1450).It is nice to know when to know you are pushing hard, or really need shut it down...

went with the 280 on both trans and water also got voltmeter oil pressure (all 2 5/8) and a 5 tach w/shift light. Gonna run a gps for speedometer. This project will be done one day hopefully haha.

If you have one oil cooler it shouldnt reqally get hot at least my oil has never got that hot before. My oil temp gauge is 140 to 260 and temp is under 200 or close to most of the time.
