Corona, Calif. (July 7, 2009) - Hansen Beverage Company (HANS) announced today
that it has partnered with promoters Ricky Johnson and Mitch Covington in an off-road
racing series known as The Traxxas TORC Truck Series, presented by AMSOIL. The series
will provide a stage for the world's top off-road drivers, manufacturers and sponsors
to compete at top caliber venues from California to Wisconsin. The 2009 series is
televised on ABC and its sister network, ESPN2.
"This form of racing is very intense and exciting for both the fans at the track
and the television audience," stated Rodney Sacks, CEO of Hansen Beverage Company.
"We really want to see this series succeed and have invested for the long-term.
The Off-Road Championship Truck Series is a great way for consumers to interact
and connect not only our brands but other companies' brands as well."
Sacks continued: We are impressed with Ricky's and Mitch's vision and business
plan for this project and we jumped on-board to back their efforts to build this
into a sustainable entertainment property."
Added co-founder and veteran racer Ricky Johnson: "We are really happy to have Hansen's
as a partner and to help us build this series in a first-class manner from the start,"
said Johnson. "Their backing allows us a great opportunity to pursue our vision
for exposing this sport to the masses. The management at Hansen's has supported
our vision to create a new and exciting racing product for the future and they are
encouraging us every day to be very creative in our approach to the future - that
is exactly what we needed."
The Traxxas TORC Series presented by AMSOIL will compete next at Bark River, Mich.,
on July 11th and 12th. The race will be broadcast on ESPN2 on Sunday July 19th
at 11:30 CST.

Doesn't Hansen own Monster? Ricky drives for Red Bull? I see blue tape.....
Ricky is sponsored by Red Bull this year only. He owns TORC, hopefully for a long and prosperous time.

But I think we can assume there isn't any sponsor exclusivity like the Traxxas deal so this is a positive thing.
