that story isnt very good. mickey thompson started short course while trying to bring desert racing to a crowd. he kept making the track smaller and smaller until the fans could see the whole track. this is described in detail in the book "the offroad racer". if you don't own a copy you should.

Thanks guys I kinda thought there were some mistakes but wasn’t totally sure . I feel like it’s good enough for the every day newbie to maybe get introduced to the sport but yeah once they’re introduced to it they should do some more research on it and learn more .
