We're new to short course racing and need a hot pit vehicle.
Our current setup is a small gator, 3 person sxs. It fits in the race trailer with the pro2.

Any pros and cons against a full blown pit /chase truck setup?

Stick with a small sxs, get a sweet 1 ton rig, anything else out there?

You don't need much for a pit vehicle for short course. The races are so short that any repairs beyond changing a tire or removing a damaged body panel aren't likely. A couple tires, a jack, impact wrench, hand tools, etc. is about all you need.

Most use a well equipped utv. Some tracks, room is at a premium (Reno, Glen Helen Utah) and large trucks can be a handicap...smaller rigs can usually get in and set up quicker when access is tight while trucks are stuck in bottlenecks
