Does anyone knoe the exact proceedure for the IRC device handles a car that loses an alternator and goes dead? I think Dave Capsino may have lost an alternator at Primm, and made it in but was DNF due to no signal from IRC. Is this accurate, or did we hear wrong info?

I believe I was told the iri-tracker had an internal back up battery.

IRC should be connected to the Battery and requires very minimum power to operate.
Now, in our case, at the primm a roll over cut the power wire to our IRC unit. That was no bueno. Car on it's side and no connections to IRC.

Make sure your IRC power wire is protected.

The IRC unit has an internal battery. We were dead at Parker due to drowning EVERYTHING electrical, and all of a sudden a voice come on the IRC and ask 8115, Are you guys OK ? iT WAS PRETTY SURREAL, out in the middle of no where (RM 85 or so) and a voice come out of the black........Real Twilight Zone stuff !!!!
