Does anybody know why you can't use ATF fluid with a Howe rack?

If you have a Saginaw pump and Howe Rack wouldn't you be able to use ATF fluid?

Does anybody use ATF with there Howe rack?

Which is exactly what Howe sells except they put their label on it. I would use whatever Howe recommends.

Using Swepco Power Steering Fluid currently, but just a question for everybody. Going to start using the GM brand though.

With our Chevy pump powering a Char-Lyn, we've had the best luck with Schaeffer products. I know, the forklift stuff is old school but works for us.
