They just want us to spend our money in their casinos.

Their casinos suck! I would rather take the extra hour or 2 and drive to vegas...sin city baby. Tonto and chief big smoke need to get some good rules at the tables and drop the hand fees.

How about this lame-ass comment:

"They (duners) have plenty of territory out there without lifting the ban," Jackson said. "Pretty soon they'll want more and more and that has to stop."

We only want what has been taken away, jackass mo-fo!!! They (this indian tribe) of all people should be able to indentify with that!!!

I can't remember the last time any section of public land designated for something other than OHV use has been lobbied for by OHVers to be opened for OHV use!

Maybe we could get some money from the government and build a "Duner's Casino" at the dunes?

BRAAAAAAAAP!

I'll be happy when they reopen the north side of the road! Anyone remember 10grand hill? WTF about all the plants on the west side of the canal south of the road. It looks as if the military or someone has cleared out about 3 sq. miles of plants. I don't hear the eco-nazis crying about that one!

yeha the military area is gnarly when they drop bombs there. North of the highway
has not been open since early 80s so that will never happen. I jsut think the recently
closed area should be reopened. Everything was fine until then and thats why so much
crap goes down...too many people in too little space. Limiting numbers doesnt help the cause
becasue everybody should be able to go whenever they want and not be limited or ahve to buy tickets.

its funny this comes here! just today at the wemo meeting, paige, myself, and some land use planners from several counties/cities were talking about what used to be and what is now. many of the folks thought the north side of 78 was always closed! many folks on the street don't realize that we have 50% less areas for OHV use today than we did 20 years ago, and the number of OHVer's has increases substantially. even at the meeting today, the green guys from the sierra club and the turtle club tried to imply that we are trying to enlarge our areas at the expense of the turtles! they keep trying to sell this picture of offroaders just driving willynilly everywhere and aiming for turtles and endangered plants! Their line is in the sand, and we know what they are after. fortunately, they aren't gonna get it without a substantial fight and many of the biologists have realized what their ultimate goal is, the extinction of OHVer's!

It's not just glamis that is suffering. We used to camp out by the airport in borrego and ride over to blow sand down san filepe wash. Also used to camp down south by agua caliente and ride through split mountian. This is why I laugh when they say they are opening up new land! We have lost over 50% of what was open in the late 70's early 80's. Most of the under 30 crowd does not no this since these areas were closed before they were old enough to remeber. The supposed lawlessness thats been happening out at glamis recently has been going on since the late 70's also. Anybody who was at a wet t-shirt contest at the sand drags ( the real ones behind glamis beach store) will know what I mean. Statistically speaking, the crime rate PER CAPITA is fairly low compared to an urban paradise like chicago..... To many bored people how need to point fingers....

I dont remeber when those sand drags behind the store wer closed...81 or so, but I hear my old man's stories quite often about them. I was born in November of 79 and I had my first thanksgiving that year in Glamis and have only missed 1 Thanksgiving since then. I love the place regardless of the jackasses there. The only place that comes close to the fun one can have at Glamis is Havasu on Labor day or 4th of July, but it still does not come close. I have helped out with the ASA a few times when I have had the time and money, but I wish I had more time and money to help out more. I think what Paige and others here do is awesome. Thanks guys
