Is This a D44??

Long story short, an axel was dropped into my hands for free. I am pretty sure it is a Dana 44. But outa what I do not know.....can you help me? Is there a site on specs I can look at?

Thats what I was gonna say also. It should say on the diff cover if you remove all of the layers of paint. It will say like D44 and the dana logo.

pic # 2 shows a 44 in the casting. i'm pretty sure that's typical of all 44's front or rear. front 30's look identical, so that's the easy way to tell.

yea....Because of the D44 in the casting I asummed that is what it was.

any idea beyond that though????? I can post the rest of the id #'s later.......
FORD?? GM?? Car?? Truck?? Rear?? Frnt?? any website that list the numbers and what they belong to?

Defintitely not a front!

Came off something with springs under axles, like a Jeep product.

didn't some of the little motor Broncos come with a 44 rear? What i sthe lug pattern? that will narrow it down a lot.
