I thought I'd take a sec to promote this race, which has been going on a lot longer than most realize! This will be my 3rd one, and the last time was 10 years ago!!

Jackpot is near the Idaho border, easily reachable in about 7 hours from Vegas. The road are great (most at 70++ mph), the scenery is excellent, and the course usually has plenty to offer. I believe they are going to run 5 laps about 40 miles long each. Twin Falls, Idaho is the nearest major town with an Autozone (ETC), and is 45 minutes to the north. Jackpot has a few hotels/casinos and room codes are on their facebook page, or perhaps someone will put them on this thread.

It is put on by Bonneville Off-road Racing, AKA BOR (they dropped the E a few years ago... which is a good thing, IMO )

BOR follows SNORE rules for "classes" and safety, but it appears the racers tend to get lumped into "unlimited" vs "limited", as well as golf carts... OOPS side-by-sides, or UTVs. Yes, I'm a trouble-maker and YES, I know how fast they are. so don't start, ha ha!

This a GREAT place to break in new drivers, co-dawgs, test those race trucks or knock the cobwebs off the old ones. Unlimited is 500 bucks and the limited and sportsman classes are a bit cheaper.

We plan to camp in the pits, and BBQ, although the casinos have a restaurant or two and are excited to have the event, no doubt!!

The guided pre-run is sometime on July 6. Here is one of the photos from their last race, I stole this from Joseph Torregrossa on facebook.

I've been going the last 7 years. I'm not racing this one, but helping out.

The car show should be pretty cool, plus a swimming pool and full bar at the awards ceremony.

The course has only change a little bit through the years. Full video here -->

Thanks to Tony Newland who shared this link to a video from last years race. Some cool fast roads, juniper trees, some technical stuff and maybe a few rocks. Can't wait to run this course on July 7! According to their Facebook page they are considering motos as well!
