Hello everyone, thisis my first post, well as we know exist three differents Grand cherokees, the one that race Curt Leduc 2WD and the other one from Mike Leslie 4X4.

But Im looking information form this Jeep Grand cherokee Class 8 and sometimes Trophy truck, the original owners was Drren skilton, the las time I saw it was in the BAJA 2000, driven by Dick Sasser, I really want to know, what happened with this Truck, who Built it, and where can I find that awesome Fiberglass fenders.

If anybody has information from the another Trophy Truck Grand cherokee the one who drives Mike Leslie will be helpful:)

Thank You
Ian Glaser.

Darren and Clive Skilton are on here from time to time, they probably have an idea where it is.

It was built for Class 3 in 1993. Ran in trophy truck for a couple of races when the new 4x4 trophy truck was not finished. I raced it in Class 8 in 1995-6. Was then sold to Dick Sasser. Beautifully built truck. PM me if you have more questions.

The A arm TT went to La Paz in 2000. I believe it is a Chevy TT now. Was built by Russ Weirdemont ( sorry about spelling) as a Class 1 ( before TT class). Had 6 cyl jeep motor and XJ body. Curt Le Duc modified it for me with V8 and ZJ body Curt prepped and raced it for my company Don-A-Vee Jeep.

Been racing with Mike Lesle the last few years again and this subject came up about some of his older racing vehicles. The Comanche that won all the championships in the mid 80s is owned by Miguel in Tj we raced it full season for nostalgic reasons the way it was prepared back then in 2019 won SF 250 the mint and 2nd at 400 that year. Boy the bumps got bigger lol. Back to cherokees 1 went to africa 1 went to texas and 1 went to north California is silver now and has won every race its entered in jeep speed and championship. Still racing as far as we know. The grand cherokee 4x4 straight axle was sold went through a few hands now sits in a museum and looks nothing like a cherokee. A guy name steve green in 2011 with the help of the late Donny Fair( a original crew chief for mike lesle racing) transformed it into a storm chaser. Yes a storm chaser. Took the big shocks off put hydraulics on it so it would lower stay sucked to ground. New body lots of gagets and now it sits. The a arm grand was not in his stable curt leduc got the drive after mike closed shop. I will try to post pictures

Cant believe this was a Trophy Truck that was ahead of its time. Look closely you can see the machine work of Byron from Henry's machine works and the fab work of curt leduc. he kept the race motor in it at 700 HP kinda sucks
