MONSTER ENERGY, TOYOTA SEND JOHNNY GREAVES AND JEREMY MCGRATH TO “TAKE CARE OF BUSINESS” IN TRAXXAS TORC SERIES

Abrams, WI (April 4, 2009) Greaves Motorsports announced today that Supercross Champion and legend, Jeremy McGrath, will be racing the Toyota powered Pro 2 for the star-studded Monster Energy Toyota Off-Road Team owned by Greaves Motorsports. The team will debut at the Traxxas TORC Series that kicks off May 15th and 16th at Texas Motor Speedway, near Dallas under the lights. Greaves will handle the Pro 4x4 duties, as well as direct the veteran team.
"This is really exciting for me to join with a champion like Johnny and one of the most successful teams in short-course history,” said McGrath. “Johnny has been one of the guys I looked up to in short-course since I started, and to be a part of such a successful team really gets me fired-up. I tested the BF Goodrich Toyota Greaves-built machine a few weeks ago and I knew right away that I would have a great chance to win a title. It was really fast, and the Fox Shox were really working. I’m glad we were able to work it out with Monster, Toyota, and the rest of the team, and I am stoked to be here and looking forward to the TRD team backing us up at the track. This team expects championships and that is what I’m all about too,” McGrath continued.
"If you really want to know, I was looking forward to kicking everyone’s butt in that new Pro 2 this year,” Greaves said with a smile. “But when the opportunity came around to bring Jeremy on-board, and I saw how passionate he was about winning, I knew it would be great for the fans, sponsors, and my team,” stated Greaves. “We worked really hard in the off-season to get this truck in top form and I feel really good about Jeremy taking the wheel. I have a lot of confidence in Jeremy because he has proved he has the potential to win every week.”
Greaves and McGrath are scheduled to test at Perris Raceway during the upcoming PDG and TORC Series testing day on April 19th and 20th. Fans are invited to come out and have some fun while hanging out with the teams. Johnny and Jeremy will be making final adjustments, while sponsors Monster Energy, Toyota/TRD, BF Goodrich, Fox Shox and many others will be there to support this new star-studded team.

"That truck is primed for a big year as well as the Pro-4 driven by Johnny". I agree and so is the entire TORC series. More big names supporting TORC I like to hear it!

Awesome. McGrath is a serious short course off road racing threat. I wonder what he'll think of turn one at Crandon. Can't wait to see it.

He'll just pretend it's like the Talladega first turn at Glen Helen and keep it pinned hopefully!!!

I'm sure Jeremy will feel right a home in a landrush start (ie Holeshot).....I still prefer a "holeshot" start to anything else - it's what I'm used to, and it' a lot more exciting!! He'll do great, I'm sure!
