So we made it to Vegas to Reno with all three cars. Two of the cars finished with very minimal issues, 12th and 16th. We had some heat issues with the fuel, and lost some time with that and we had a little trouble with belt temp. We weren't able to get the clutching as dialed as we would have hoped before the race. The third car broke a steering knuckle at RM 23, the car was going straight and hit a small rock with the right front tire. Not enough of an impact to hurt the wheel or tire but the knuckle broke at the lower ball joint. I can't say we were surprised, the car had almost 450 very rough test miles on it. We are on the wait list for the updated parts from Kawasaki but weren't able to get the parts before the race. I'm still very impressed with how well the cars held up. The only "issues" we've seen so far with the cars is the upper radius rods seem to get play in them around 400 miles of abuse, the hub carrier bushing that connect the hub carrier to the trailing arm had to be replaced with delrin before the race on the two higher mileage cars and the motor/trans mount bushings are way to soft for racing/hard driving applications. We are working on getting polyurethane motor/trans mounts made as well as having delrin bushings made for the hub carriers. Now that the big race is over we're planning to get some of the custom parts we made for the race cars into production.
