Just an example, google description of an organization I chaired. Read that abbreviated description in the photo at a minimum and think of the why not the off-road industry could do something similar.
Most don't realize that when it comes to land use 'big users' off road, even the total recreation picture, is still small potatoes when compared to mineral extraction or Environmental 'care' How many folks from say, Vermont, will cut a check to help keep racing in Southern Nevada viable? Now how many people in Vermont will cut a check to the Sierra Club to protect the environment? See how that works? The environmental clubs have been using national funding levels to attack on the local level for decades now. They don't attack at the national level, they attack locally so the counter response is local. They started in California and are working their way east. The current proposal by the head of DOI to combine districts and decentralize management of land use is something that goes counter to the current system- Where giant lobbying groups with national funding pockets can ply decision makers with steak and lobster and hookers and blow and cash to get things they want done. 48 of the Senators who will have a part in the decision of how the land in Nevada is going to be used could care less about Nevada, but they sure as hell care about their own pockets. We need to push for more designated Open OHV areas on a National Level so it becomes a common standard in land use planning. We are getting killed on the local counter work from the national decision buyers.
