It sounds like Parker and Laughlin will both be great races. What are my odds of winning Trophy Truck my first time out at Laughlin? I've got some pretty heavy competition, should be 12 or more trucks in Trophy Truck alone. The $25,000 Laughlin Leap and pit crew challenge should be great also (this is on Thursday so book your rooms early). This will be my first time entering the Leap now that I got a few more Horsepower. For those of you spectating I hear Parker is out of rooms, Laughlin has plenty and it is only an hour and a half drive between the two. The Trucks start at noon and I promise to put on a good show. Lets fill these rooms at Laughlin and make some withdrawls from the casino. Will there be an RDC party this year at the choo choo bar, if so I donate $100 dollars to the cause. Sounds like there will be a lot of buggies at Parker, but Laughlin will have way more HORSEPOWER.

sounds like now there will be one (party/ get together)...hehe

My money is on herbst TT for the jump contest. 4wd, a much more efficient transmission will make that truck accelerate better then anyone else out there.

Parker is out of rooms because that's where everyone is going!!! Laughlin has plenty of rooms because only the trucks (horsepower as you describe it), truggy's and a few others will be there! I myself love Laughlin, but am looking forward to Parker. We will actually have a chance at some $$$ (pro10), not to mention our $/mile cost are MUCH less (more bang for our buck at Parker)!! I am sure you being a TT guy, $$ for payback isn't as big of an issue for you, but for our class 10, and our budgets, it is!! Any info on your new TT? Photos? Good luck to you and all the TT's at Laughlin, I will look forward to the pix on RDC!!

Good luck with the new ride Scott! Is your new TT going to be painted with the 'ol yellow lightning bolt on sides. I always liked that paint scheme. Does Wachter still paint for you and/or is he still associated with your team? I know he was your co-driver for a long time, he is a friend of a friend sort of and now I notice you have different co-rider(s). Just wondering!

GOOD LUCK Scott!! Sorry I'll miss your debut since I'll be at Parker, but I'm sure I'll see you blasting through the desert at the next SCORE event.

Klaus,
The Herbst TT is turning into a real bullet these days. It should make a good showing at Laughlin this year. Mike Smith is flabergasted at how fast it's getting during the testing sessions. The transmission itself is a good working piece as long as the software that controls it doesn't go tits up. ;-)

Re: "I've got some pretty heavy competition, should be 12 or more trucks in Trophy Truck alone."

Is there really going to be 12 trucks entered? I have'nt seen a good TT turnout in a long time, and that would be an awesome show in Laughlin.

I believe Jeffries will be there, along with Jesse Jones's new truck, Kyle Taylor's new truck, Vidosola's new truck, Lonney helmbolt who always seems to race laughlin, and Scott's new ride.

I was at Craig Stewarts " Race Works" shop yesterday. Inside he had Jesse Jones' Trophy Truck. He said that they are doing the tin work on it. Somebody's going to be very busy to be ready in time for Laughlin. The truck has no motor or transmission in it yet, no plumbing or wiring either. From what progress has been made it looks like a very well build truck.

Vildosolas truck I thought was not going to be done before San Felipe and as for Lonny, I thought the Greers bought all his trucks and Jim Pierce bought his prerunner.. Is he even going to race anymore?? He kinda like dropped off and nothing has been said about him.

I heard Jesse Jones was going to trash but I heard it was going to be ready for the race in Laughlin. As for Vidosola and Lonney it was pure speculation. I did not even know that Lonney sold his truck. News to me.

I am asking.. I know the greers own two dodge TT's and two class 8s, or so I have heard. I was guessing these were all from the Hembolt stable. Not sure though. As far as Jesse Jones. His new truck looks crazy. We shot it for skunkz.

Herbst, Collins, Smith Ashley, Mark Post, Jefferies, two Baldwin trucks, Jesse Jones, PCI racing, and Darrin Skilton in a new Kia Trophy Truck. These trucks are all scheduled for Laughlin. Greer also has three trucks but I do not know if they will race Laughlin or Parker. Also there are many new trucks being built. Geiser Bros. are building 3 new Trophy Trucks, The Vildosola truck will debute at San Felipe, Sean Sessa is building the second one, and rumor has it they just took a deposit on a third truck. These are a couple of busy Brothers! Riviera is building a new truck for Nick Baldwin, I hear they are trying to make San Felipe also. Mike Jakobsen who used to race class 5 is also working on a new truck. Robby Gordons truck is for sale for anybody reading this that needs a turn key truck for Laughlin. Kreg Donahoe is building a truck and rumor is the guys who bought the old Helm truggy are putting a body on it to race Trophy Truck. Can you elaborate on this Kreg? Roger Gray of Phoenix Motorsports has the new Chevy Truck he ran with Walker Evans at the Baja 2000, don't know his plans. John Swift, saw him on an entry for the V2R race in Trophy Truck what is he up to? Vosburg and Miller both have Protrucks on steroids, I wonder what races they will hit this year? Larry Ragland and Arnold are a tough team with a winning history although Larry has been racing with Brian Collins in the longer races, I hear he will be at Parker. Sorry if I missed anyone, as you can see we should have some great and competitive racing this year in the Trophy Truck class. Good luck to all and be safe!

Here's $0.02 worth:
Saw the Vildosola TT at Geiser's on Friday. Structurally, it looks like a copy of Herders (which was just across the shop). I'd say much of the fab work was done. I don't think Parker is possible, but San Felipe maybe. I don't remember seeing any wires. The instrument panel was sick! I heard the same rumor about the "deposit" for the 3rd TT while I was there. With some engine work, the Herder truggy should be back on it's feet. Didn't go too far last weekend in Mexico.

Also in the shop was the Woods Bros Class 1. They ditched the Subaru and put in a stroked 302. It's hooked to a new Fortin 4sp. I've been told that the 302 weighs LESS than the Subie. The thing looked fast just sitting there.
