Lowrance for Single Seat Class 10

Really looking for some advice on a GPS in our alumicraft class 10 with a makeshift single seat setup. We can’t fit our HDS 9 anywhere viable, even a 7” is a little too big. Has anyone mounted a 5” on a vertical access? Thanks in advance. Any other single seat techniques are also appreciated.

We mounted our driver GPS up high and it works pretty well. Just an option.

This is inside the cockpit of Ed Maurin’s Ex-Larry Ragland Woodstuff Chaparral at the NORRA Mexican 1000. I really like the set up as I can glance down and see the GPS with now issues. All the writing on the tape are notes and once I pass them I grab the pull tab and throw them on the floor board of the race car. Works great for point to point races.......

We run an HDS5 behind the steering wheel in our SS, same as we ran in the 12 car.

I only use Lowrance gps for navigation and not a fan of leadnav. However for single seater or bikes and quads for sure look into leadnav and have it play audio back to you for anything you put. Some TTs even with navigators run them. Maybe for back up get a 7" LIVE. For the TT I run two 12"lives but maybe a a bit much for single seater haha.

Our dash is very limited on space so our options are limited. Has anyone run a unit vertically? Would really help with how small a 5” screen looks. LeadNav audio notes are definitely something that sounds appealing as well.

We ran a 5" in our tiny single seater for Norra. We made it fit. trimmed a little out of the hood.

If you mount it vertical wouldn't the tracking not be up? I don't think you can rotate the screen. At least not on the older ones.

Ipad's can be run vertical.

I would pick the navigation system you want and then build it into your dash... Most vehicles have custom protectors built to protect the back side of their gps/ipads.. Hard to fit a good size gps in any dash.

I used lead nav audio through a Bluetooth intercom in my SS 10 car. Was typically a Lowrance guy but it worked great once we figured out how to mark in on the prerun.

Use an old fish finder, these one are already set up for vertical orientation.

We used a 5" lowrance with the radio mounted under it in our ss class 12. Also made a small aluminum piece to protect the back side of the gps but I loved the setup!
