I'll going to the poker run next week and I want to take my dog with me. What are the requirements for bringing a pet back across the border? Is it a big hassle or
are they pretty lenient? Are there any websites that I can look at? Thanks in advance for your help.

I have friends that take their dogs to their house in Mexico with no problems. They just make sure the dog has a current liscense. If you want to be safe, get a certificate of health and vaccinations from your vet and you shouldn't have any problems. My dog was born in Mexico and all we needed to bring her back as a puppy was a certificate showing she had her first shots.

You are correct. All you need is proof the dog is current on his/her shots. This can be obtained from your vet. Sometimes they will allow you to use the license as well because in most counties the dog must show proof of shots (Rabies) before issuance. I have learned however that this does not always work. Its best to keep the shot records in your ride.
