Mint 400 spectating

First, let me start by saying this is not a thread to bitch about the spectating situation, it's simply a thread to ask questions and get the details. All those who want to complain that it's not like Baja, please find another thread...

Sometimes for me going out to watch a race is a last minute decision the day before. It almost happened with San Felipe Friday night at 6pm I almost decided to go down but ended up staying home. I am not set on going up to watch the Mint just yet, but I understand parking passes are nearly sold out and the only way to obtain them is at tech on Friday. I work on Friday, but if I wanted to jam up Saturday morning to catch the afternoon race, is it possible at all to purchase a parking pass at Primm on Saturday morning?

Will it even be possible to watch the race at all without purchasing some sort of pass before hand or will I be turned away?

Does the spectating (without parking pass) get sold out?

I'm sure I'm not the only one who makes last minute trips like this.

You can still spectate at Primm....around the start finish, infield, and Dyke jump, for free. You would need a pass for any of the on course spectator areas though.

Volunteer to work the course for BITD, best show around and a great group of people.
Guessing that's not an option if he says he won't be able to make it out until mid day anyway.

You can also park at the Gold Strike in Jean, and catch the shuttle that will take you to any of the spectator ares. Spectating is free. Parking is the only fee.

Thanks guys. I just wanted to make sure the viewing areas don't actually get sold out and it's cool to hear it's free but I don't mind paying. Parking is my secondary concern

PM/Call me with any questions you have. I will answer. I can help you get any questions answered you may have. Man, I just spent 30 minutes justifying everything we're doing in terms of parking but glad I pulled that one back.

In a gist:

Yes, it is possible to watch the race without purchasing a parking pass before hand. If you do not have a parking pass and you make it to our parking staff, you will not be let in. You will be instructed to park in the Gold Strike Hotel parking lot (Jean) for free and take a shuttle in to one of the spectating areas or to park in FRONT of the Primm Valley Hotel & Casinos for free and walk to the spectating and/or Start/Finish.

SPEC 3 = SOLD OUT
SPEC 4 = SOLD OUT

The remaining spectator areas going QUICKLY.

On Sunday, February 28th, The Mint 400 stopped shipping spectator parking passes in the mail. All orders placed prior to Moonday February 29th at 11am will be shipped in the mail but all orders placed after that will only be available for pick up on site, "will call style". Spectator parking passes will still be available for purchase online but will need to be picked up on Fremont St. at the official Mint 400 merchandise SEMI located on 6th and Fremont anytime from 9am-4pm during Tech and Contingency on Friday, March 11th.

The merchandise SEMI will have parking passes for sale if, and only if, all the passes are not pre-sold online.

We will most likely not sell out our inventory of PRIMM parking passes, however we cannot guarantee this. In that case, we would sell in PRIMM but again, cannot guarantee this. It's no different than making a list minute decision to go to Supercross, a Lamb of God concert, the Super Bowl, or Sea World, if it's full, it's full.

Thanks for the help Kilian, I just wasn't clear if I could still spectate or not if parking was sold out. No issues with the way you're doing things accept I would try if possible to sell the parking passes at the spectator areas on the day of the event IF they aren't already sold out. Just a suggestion.

Oh totally, that wasn't meant towards you, though it looked it. There's things being said in another post but anyways, we will definitely sell spectating passes all the way until they're sold out. We try to presell everything for many reasons..
