Still no info, but Robby makes no mention of traveling from Pocono to Montreal in his Pocono pre race report on RobbyGordon.com. So much for him sending a car up to Canada no matter what as he had said before...

Bummer.

He has not mentioned things before, after all, he is Mr Last Minute when it comes out to announcing deals such as this. He has not announced driving the 22 before as well at all, he is just in it.

What a bummer if he does not go back though........That would have to suck, especially after he for all purposes had won the race last year.

Guess he will not be racing.......You would think Gilette would have a second car just for this race.......Having two excellent road course racers could have meant a win for his team.

Am I a bad fan if I hope the cup team fails, he is unable to find sponsorship for next season and he goes to drive for a contender next year. I hate wishing bad things on anybody, especially somebody who who has so much talent and drive. But enough is enough.

Ranger in the #22 at Montreal: Andrew Ranger will drive in the Nationwide Series race this weekend. Ranger, who will also drive in the NASCAR Canada series, will pilot the #22 of Fitz Motosports. The #22 was driven by Patrick Carpentier last year in Montreal.(Translated from RDS.ca by Google Translate)(7-31-2008)

Something is up With Robby and RGM, I alluded to it a week or so ago, but this just proves it. Robby was quoted as saying he would send a car to Canada no matter what.

I have not heard anything as of yet, but something is definetely up......And I am not positive it has anything to do with Gilette or Dodge. All of the help from Gilette has dried up completely while all of his other teams are geting sponsorship up the arse. I think if Villeneuve was racing an RGM car, that it would have been alot more telling. The talk about Barry Green buying in may end up being him taking over all together.

This still is quite distressing. I mean this was a gimme top 5, possibly win for RGM. What a joke.

To be honest, if I was Robby I would have put a trained monkey in the #7 seat for Pocono and just have them ride around for points, its not like he is going to be competitive anyhow. That would have freed him up to run for the win in Nationwide.

(and of course as I write this, Robby jumps up to 3rd fastest in practice at Pocono 5 minutes in...)

Great to Auggie in the #6 car....even if it is just for practice...this kid needs to get a real shot.

I feal real bad that i dont want robby to find a sponsor for next year. i just want him to go with another team is all.

if he owns his own car in off-road than it works. if you own ur own car in NASCAR, and ur not tony/haas with billions upon billions of dollars stored up, than you are screwed. please find a team! open seat at RCR!!! go back!

so why isn't robby racing a race that he won last year? he can't get taken out by marcos ambrose because marcos is gonna get taken out by boris said.

Good Article......

When the Nationwide Series makes its second stop in Montreal this Saturday, the star power from last year's race will be missing.

Defending winner Robby Gordon won’t be there, and neither will the driver that got the trophy and the points, Kevin Harvick. Still, the second visit promises to have no shortages of contenders and storylines. In particular I’m focusing on three Canadians, an Australian, and a Kansas boy I profiled last week.

Patrick Carpentier—PC, my favorite Sprint Cup rookie this season, is skipping the race in Pocono this weekend in order to try and win the race in Montreal. Carpentier is from Quebec, and was thisclose last year in his first NASCAR race at any level. I think he has a great shot to win, and would love to see him do so. In his first run with the No. 9 team in Mexico City this year he finished fifth.

Ron Fellows—Fellows is the ageless wonder of NASCAR road racing but his game appears as good as ever. He owns multiple wins at Watkins Glen, where the series will be next week, and has a strong car under him this week as he wheels the No. 5 JR Motorsports Chevy. Fellows ran competitively last year driving for KHI, and will most likely do so again Saturday.

Jacques Villeneuve—Villeneuve is one of the wildcards in the field this weekend. He didn’t compete last year as he was focused on Sprint Cup. Villeneuve’s car this weekend—the No. 32 Braun Toyota—is no slouch, as it currently sits 15th in the owners standings and has been driven by Kyle Busch and Denny Hamlin, among others.

Even more personal, the Montreal track is named after his father, the late Gilles Villeneuve. Jacques didn’t win here in F1, but would no doubt love to do so this weekend.

Marcos Ambrose—“Kangaroo Meat” has received the bulk of attention with the series returning to Montreal. Ambrose dominated the race last year and most likely would have won, if he hadn’t spun Robby Gordon out under caution and received his payback on the restart.

Ambrose hasn’t run as well as he did last year, but this race could very well turn that around. Yes, I’m faulting Ambrose for his own actions in regards to Gordon last year.

Clint Bowyer—A year ago, it was his RCR teammates Kevin Harvick and Jeff Burton making the journey to Montreal to compete in this race while Bowyer stayed in Pocono. This season the roles are reversed and it could present an interesting challenge to the Emporia, Kansas native in his quest to win the Nationwide Series championship.

He will be a rookie at this track and perhaps even more risky, will turn his first laps on the track when he receives the green flag. If he escapes with a top-15, he should feel very, very lucky.

Interesting spin on the Gordon/Ambrose altercation.

As I sit watching the pre race stuff for Canada, the more angry I get about no RGM car being there. What a joke. Apparently having Robby in Pocono to qualify 38th and sit through two rained out practices was more important than running for the win in Canada.

Seriously, how much business sense does this make? Let PJ Jones or Matt Crafton or whoever qualify and race the cup car, I mean its going to run like crap anyhow. I take this as the beginning of the end for RGM in my own opinion. If Robby cant even logically race the Nascar events where he stands a chance of winning, l it wont be long before RGM is history. Man I am f-ing pissed.

You are preaching to the choir brotha.......Even though he said all of the right things in his interview, Boris Said has his eyes set on Ambrose....He is still hot. I would love to see Ambrose get punted.

They have the rain tires out and they will use them if necessary. Man, what a race for Robby to miss.

He does not even have to miss the race....... Im sure those extra 4 qualifying positions he gained by staying in Pocono will do wonders:rolleyes:....What a race to miss. I think this track is the best road course in all of Nascar. He is going to run himself right out of the sport.

They are getting ready to red flag the cars...They will then come to the pits to install the brake lights, defoggers, rain tires and the windshied wipers. It is Goodyears heavy duty rain tire. They were saying that they also have a medium and light duty rain tire as well but did not want to mess around and only brought the heavy duty rain tire in Canada........Wise choice after last weekend. The rain is coming down pretty hard....The ringers have a legit shot now.
