Congrats Curtis! BWR was on the radar but we opted for the Whiskey-30 in Prescott last weekend instead. Epic put on a great event in and it was a serious, real deal XC-Duro type race that's worth doing if anyone is considering it! Next on our schedule are the Vandenberg MTB race and the Dirty Bear Gravel Ride

Thanks! That sounds like fun also. I think next up for me is the Quick n Dirty summer series at Lake Hodges in Escondido. They have 8 mountain bike races on Thursday nights. I missed the first one last week but I'm going to try and do this weeks. Although I've only been on the bike once so far since BWR.

I raced the Quick n Dirty race last night. Three 5 mile laps for the sport class. I felt good and was about 2 miles from the finish on the last lap following a guy in the dust on a downhill. It wasn’t a rough section but I must have hit a rock just right and my front wheel swapped out from under me and threw me to the ground tumbling and my bike ended up in the bushes. Hardest crash I’ve had in my 30 years of riding. It happened so fast. My elbow and knee hit first and my arm and back is scraped up. And It’s a little swollen next to my eye. I guess my head hit the ground but just the side at my glasses. They were covered in dirt but my helmet was fine with no marks on it at all. Could have been worse like the guy that crashed there a little while before and broke his collar bone. The paramedics were taking care of him not far down the hill so they helped clean up my wounds. I thought about continuing to the finish before stopping where they were but my elbow was bleeding pretty bad and my arm was covered in blood dripping… Good times! Lol
