Going to try to make my fist trip out to see a LOORRS race at Vegas! Can you guys give me any suggestions where to stay, what to see what not to see. Do any of the Casinos cater to the off road fans?
Thanks for the help guys!

Not too many Casino deals tied to race. We stay at The Cannery or Alliante. You might want to head towards the strip for a casino though and Vegas fun since your visiting. South Point is good but all the way across town
The race is Friday and Saturday night with the big Freemont street deal Thursday night.

Im partial to mandalay bay or mirage for the complete vegas experience, take the city bus to the track if youre not in a hurry......... but it sucks , you can sometimes work a deal with the taxis for x amount of $$ so you know what your in for,a good time will be had

The bus doesn't go out to the track anymore. Even on Cup weekend it's a contact service. Regardless of where you stay the least expensive way is to rent a car. Next best is using a car service. There are some deals downtown and a few more good properties these days. The D, Nugget and the new Plaza are a good value. On the Strip over the weekend is going to be expensive. Look around and you can get some deals off Strip.

I agree on the rental car - definitely the way to go if you will be driving out to the track. Just getting into a Taxi in Vegas is about $5.00, then they tack on the miles from there...!

Since the LOORRS trucks and drivers will be doing a big shindig (I just like to use that word) on Fremont Street, I always thought it would be cool to get a room at the QUEENS or someplace with a balcony that overlooks Fremont. Then you are in the heart of the action - at least for Thurs night. Fremont is cheaper, older (more traditional Vegas), and just a hair closer to the track than the Strip. It's also a great place to people watch.

If you want to be in the heart of the nightlife in Vegas, then find a good deal on the Strip. You will pay premium for a weekend stay there, though....you can save some money by getting a room someplace just off the strip, like the Rio, the HardRock or the Palms, maybe? I prefer the HardRock - that's where I will be for SEMA week.

The Mirage is beautiful.....love that hotel if I have the money to spend. Not too big, not too small....good location on the strip and very nice rooms. I've also stayed at the Rio, and the Luxor - different ends of the quality spectrum, but still nice enough places to stay for the money.

When we go to race, we just get the Holiday Inn Express or Comfort Inn out by the track....much less expensive, no distractions, free breakfast, and just a mile or two from the track. :)
