I don't know why, but I thought I'd share with the RDC that my wife just made the
Sacred City Roller Derby team here in Sacramento!

LOL, there are some that are questionable thats for sure.

The tryouts were closed to the public, if you weren't on the list, you couldn't get in.
I just thought I'd share on here.
I didn't realize it was such a big deal here in Sac, and I had no idea the girls take it
so seriously.

I'll definitly post some pictures up as they become availble.

Congrats to your wife!! You will both be better for it.

My wife was on an Outrigger Paddling crew for years.

Its way rad that she made the team though. Sorry I forgot to include that in my first post! There are some quality girls out there too!

Mine was worried she would lose her beauty via broken nose, as they do take it quite seriously, as you noted.

Yeah, it's flat track.

Sacred City Derby Girls.
She's skated all her life, and we saw them talking about it on TV
one day and that was it, she was hooked. She's been to almost every
local bout here in Sacramento. She made friend with all the girls, and
when they had the tryouts last night she made sure she was on the
list.
I warned her about broken nose's, etc. But she was on a mission to
make the team. Out of 50 girls they only took 4. And I guess they have
a probation period of about 6 weeks.
I've never seen her so stoked about something. Normally she's just a
pencil pushing office worker. ;)
