I just installed 2.5x10 coil overs with 550 over 550lbs springs on front of my 94 Toy with +3" arms. Need less to say it is far too stiff. The suspension does not even move.

Im looking for some lighter top coils in the 250-300 lbs range. 3.0 I.D. x 10" length. I need 2.

Tried all the local places: Baja, ORW, H M, Pro Trux, and it is all a special order basis (except Pro Trux which doesnt sell them at all I was told).

If i cant get some springs soon, ill have to pull the coils off and run the torsions till i can find something.

Oh man ya thats way to stiff. Who told you to run that?

I run a 450 over 500 on mine and its a V6 Ext Cab and was 4x4 and even mine is a little stiff.

I would reccomend running like a 350 over 450 or 400

David-

Call Harold or Doug at Parker Pumper - 1.800.700.2350.

They are the West Coast's largest distributor for Eibach Springs. They'll have what you need, and can even ship them to your doorstep.

Good Luck!

I bought em from Baja. They didnt have anything else at the time, and i was in a hurry to get the truck setup. ITs my fault. They told me it would be too stiff. I called today and they had some 400s but thats not enough.

Thanks for the tip, ill give em a call Tony.

You can’t really compare spring rates between vehicles until you know the motion ratio. I’m guessing that if 550 over 550 is to stiff you probably have the shocks mounted pretty far out toward the wheel on the A-arm. Check out the SAW web site spring rate calculation page. Moving the coil over mount in or out as little as an inch can make a big difference in wheel rate.

If you guys want the best spring rate setups call Shock Mike at Kartek. He can work you up the right combination very quickly. And he's usually right on everytime.

Mirage Racing Products had 3"ID 10"long 300lb hypercoils, i just went through
the same nightmare upgrading my girlfreinds ranger to coilovers, I bought
2.5 10" shocks with a duel rate kit, then found out later almost nobody makes
springs to fit them, go figure!

Thanks guys, Kartek took care of me. They had 250lbs springs in stock at a great price.

Yeah, playing with spring rates can be a nightmare if you dont do the math first!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
