May 6, 2002-- The La Paz County Board of Supervisors has issued an important decision today in Parker, Arizona. Recognizing that off-road racing generates a substantial amount of tourism, the La Paz County Board of Supervisors issued a letter of support for a new race to be held in Parker, to the Bureau of Land Management Field Manager Donald Ellsworth.

The letter mentions "the long term benefits of returning spectators and racers to the Parker area." While also stating they "whole heartedly support" Casey Folks and the entire "Best in the Desert" crew, with the same level of local support as they have committed to other sanctioning bodies in the past.

Please Note: Details of the race have not been finalized yet. However, this letter is a step in the right direction for creating a new race in Parker that will benefit both the local community and the sport of desert racing.
