California City, CA – January 8, 2016 – AVE/BAJA PROMOTIONS made it official for 2016, as it has changed its logo from just the “AVE” emblem to include the BP or Baja Promotions LOGO all in one. Banners and decals have been ordered and will be available for the first event, January 23, 2016.
A bit of background: It was 1986 when Lou Peralta was first asked to put on an off-road event in San Felipe since SCORE had not returned for several years. With the help from the local San Felipe government, and friends such as Ruben de La Peña, Octavio Ascolani, Don Luis and Lazaro Cardenas, a number of good friends and Tecate Beer plus a sizeable check (for those times) from Tecate, Peralta decided to become a promoter. Although he would continue to race in all SCORE and HDRA and District 37 events in the States, his plate was constantly full with his Baja Promotions Events.
Baja Promotions or BP Racing continued to promote all types of events in Baja iin cities like San Felipe, Ensenada, Mexicali, Tecate, Rosarito Beach, San Quintin and even San Luis Rio Colorado and Puerto Peñasco (Rocky Point) in mainland Mexico. The name became synonymous with off-road racing in Baja. At one time Baja Promotions was producing as many as 22 events per year, especially when they decided to add the watercraft Off-Shore Endurance Series with their off-road desert racing.
Needless to say, even today, many people recognize the name Baja Promotions, especially in Baja.
Peralta commented. “Baja Promotions is very dear to our heart. We still have many friends who raced with us and remember the good times they had. They are now racing with their sons and even grandsons. So the name is important to us, and although we never gave it up, last year by producing two events back in Ensenada, just told us that we should bring back BP once again, and add it to all our events from now on.”
Thusly, in 2016 AVE has become AVE/Baja Promotions (or AVE/BP or Alta Vista Events/Baja Promotions). Peralta and family are very happy because it also means that they will be returning to Mexico to produce several events. This year, they return for the Punta Banda GPs and UTV races south of Ensenada at Ejido Coronel Esteban Cantu and the “Ensenada Cup” Series. To commemorate the occasion, Peralta designed a new permanent logo for the company. AVE/BP. “It is what it is,” he said.
In addition to the Baja events, AVE/BP is producing the PURE UTV OFF-ROAD DESERT SERIES and the AVE/BP SuperCourse Motorcycle & ATV Super-GP Series, plus Super-GP Drone Racing.
