To further our team exposure, and to provide those that choose to not follow along on Instagram and Facebook, Ive decided to post a thread to keep anyone and everyone (or no one) informed and up to date on our MORR/Lucas Oil Midwest short course team.

We built our first truck in highschool (2012) and have been racing short course since.
Recently our team has expanded to three trucks for the 2018 season.

Sam Jacques in the #808 2012 U-Weld / Chevrolet Super Stock Truck (me)
Joey Knight in the #818 1995 Dorr / Ford Super Stock Truck
Jonny Berglund and Nathan Curry in the #606 1980 Unknown-NZSR updated / Ford Bronco Classix

I will keep everyone updated throughout the season with race reports, shop build pictures and behind the scenes action for a glimpse of what it takes to (try) to field 3 full size race trucks.

Our first Super Stock Truck is the U-Weld / Chevrolet of Sam Jacques, entering in its 3rd season.
Sponsors for 2018:
-United Steel Workers
-PDank Performance
-Silver Petal Metalsmithing
-Wilderness Car Wash
-Big D Shock Service
-Jack Heidtman Racing

Our Classix entry was purchased in the fall, previously raced by Tyler Plamann. The truck went under extensive updates over the winter and is still in the build process. Jonny Berglund and Nathan Curry are hoping for a second race season debut.
2018 Sponsors:
-Big D Shock Service

That's the skinny on what we have on our plate for the 2018 MORR/Lucas Midwest series schedule.
I hope some of you find it interesting, or maybe even entertaining. Feedback always welcome!

To kick off the 2018 season we traveled to Crandon for open practice on May 19th.

Sam Jacques in the #808 began practice low on power, made adjustments with timing and suspension and made big steps forward through the 3 session day to find serious speed in the last session before losing a motor on the last lap of the day, adding to the bad luck that has been plaguing this truck since the 2017 season.

Joey Knight debuted the freshly purchased #818 for his first time behind the wheel on track. The truck had small electrical issues to start the day, but those were quickly sorted out, and the truck made its way out for the 2nd session of the day. 3 laps in the truck had a catastrophic transmission failure on the backstretch, ending the day for the #818.

The team is already working hard at putting together replacement parts from the carnage at practice. With the first race being Spring Crandon on June 15th - 17th, time is of the essence. This is why we practice though!
